What is Grok API and what is it for?
Grok is xAI’s family of AI language models, used for chat, writing, coding, analysis and translation. The Grok API lets you call these models from your own software and coding tools instead of a chat window. Developers use it to have code written and reviewed, draft and summarise text, interpret data and add a multilingual chat feature to their own applications, all through a standard OpenAI-style interface.
The Grok API key in this package opens grok-4.5, grok-4.6 and grok-4.7; grok-4.7 is the recommended model, and the full list for your key comes from the /v1/models endpoint. Access runs through an OpenAI-compatible API gateway, and the key can only call models whose names start with grok-. Credit is deducted from input and output tokens, and each key has a per-minute request limit. This is not a key from an official xAI API account.
The packages suit developers who want to buy Grok API access to try Grok models in a short project, people planning a few days of intensive work, and anyone who wants steady use for a month. What can you do with the Grok API?
After you buy Grok API access, you redeem the code for a key and start using Grok models in Cursor, Cline, Claude Code or your own app within minutes. The three sections below cover redeeming, tool settings and how credit is used.
Redeem the code for a Grok API key
Every package delivers an activation code (CDK) in the form TSL-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX. Paste it at https://redeem.teamsoclo.site under Get a new key, and your Grok API key starting with sk- is created. The package term, whether 3 days, 5 days or 1 month, starts the moment you redeem the code, so redeem it only when you are ready to work.
Copy the key with the Copy button on the page and store it safely; selecting it by hand can drop a character and cause a 401 error. If you lose the key, entering the same code again shows the same key. The check page at https://gpt.teamsoclo.site/check shows the credit left, the expiry time and the models your key may call; the dollar sign there is not money, and one unit equals 1M tokens of your package.
When you buy another code of the same package, the Top up an existing key option adds it to your current key: quota and time are added and your tool settings stay as they are. Once the time or the credit runs out, whatever is left is not carried over to a new key. So the 3-day and 5-day Grok API packages suit a short trial or an intensive job, and the monthly ones suit steady use.
Cursor, Cline, Chatbox and Claude Code setup
The Grok API key uses the OpenAI format: every OpenAI-compatible tool takes https://gpt.teamsoclo.site/v1 as the base URL and grok-4.7 as the model, and grok-4.5 and grok-4.6 work as well. In Cursor, open Settings → Models, turn on Override OpenAI Base URL, enter the address and the key, press Verify, add grok-4.7 with + Add model and switch off Cursor’s own models; the key works in Chat.
In Cline, Roo Code and Kilo Code, choose OpenAI Compatible as the API Provider rather than plain OpenAI, enter the base URL and the key, and type grok-4.7 as the Model ID. In Chatbox, pick OpenAI API Compatible as the provider with the same address as the API Host. In your own code, changing the base_url setting of the OpenAI SDK is enough, and a short cURL request makes a quick test.
Because the gateway translates the protocol, the Grok API key also works in Claude Code: the interface is Claude Code, while a Grok model writes the answers. In the env block of settings.json, set ANTHROPIC_BASE_URL to https://gpt.teamsoclo.site without /v1 at the end, put your key in ANTHROPIC_AUTH_TOKEN and enter grok-4.7 in every model field. How credit is used, and choosing the model
Credit is deducted by actual usage: the text you send and the answer you get back, in other words input and output tokens, both count. Long chats are sent again on every turn, so opening a new chat when the topic changes keeps credit for the work that matters. A key from a Grok package can only call models starting with grok-; any other model returns No available channel for model.
Each key has a per-minute request limit, so add a short pause between requests in batch jobs, and wait a minute if you get a 429 error. Don’t share the key, because the limit and the credit are shared by everyone who uses it. Sign-in rules and troubleshooting
- 1A 401 Unauthorized error usually means the key was copied incompletely or has expired; copy it again with the Copy button and look at the check page.
- 2On No available channel for model, write the model name in lowercase, such as grok-4.7, exactly as in the /v1/models list.
- 3A 404 Not Found error means /v1 is missing or doubled in an OpenAI-compatible tool, or present by mistake in Claude Code.
- 4In Cursor the key works in Chat only; if Cursor’s default models stay on, requests skip the gateway and you see a key error.
- 5A 429 error means your Grok API key hit its per-minute request limit; wait a minute and try again.
- 6Redeem the code when you are ready, keep the delivery email and share only the last 4 characters of the key with support.
